To make the joint commemoration by India and Sri Lanka of the 2600^th Anniversary of the attainment of Enlightenment by Lord Buddha.

The Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) in partnership with the Ministry of Buddhasasana and Religions Affairs of Sri Lanka, are inaugurating an International Conference on Buddhism on Sunday, 20^th March 2011 at 10.30am at Sri Lanka International Buddhist Academy (SIBA), Pallekele, Kundasale, Kandy.

H.E. Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka will grace the inauguration of the conference.
